AXA expands online specialist assessments: what members should check

AXA Health has added online cardiology, neurology and urology assessments following pilots. Its public update does not state an exact launch date.

Who can use them?

Members need to be at least 18, have a relevant GP referral and hold outpatient specialist consultation benefits. An HBSUK specialist reviews the online assessment, aiming to provide a report and next-step guidance within three working days. This is a target, not a guaranteed appointment time.

Does using the service affect cover?

Yes. AXA says it counts as a consultation and affects relevant benefit limits, member contributions and any no claims discount. Further tests or treatment require the appropriate cover.

The services are not part of the insured plan and can change. Ask AXA to confirm eligibility and the effect on your remaining allowance before using them.

Our AXA individual review and AXA business review explain the wider policy choices.
