Bupa has outlined a limited-time offer of a free Be.Motivated health assessment, which it values at £289, for eligible new or switching Bupa By You customers.
The offer opens on 19 October 2026. Customers must purchase and start their policy by 30 November 2026 to qualify. It is not an automatic benefit for all Bupa members.
Affected products and customers
The offer applies to eligible UK residents aged 18 or over taking out Bupa By You cover directly with Bupa or through an intermediary. It provides one assessment per policy for the main member, rather than an assessment for every person insured.
A key restriction for customers using a broker is that policies with Guided Care selected are excluded.
Bupa’s leaflet also excludes:
- Professional or semi-professional sportspeople.
- Customers leaving a Bupa company health scheme and transferring to a personal Bupa policy (XGS).
- Existing members transferring from a different health insurance policy, unless they are re-underwritten onto a new Bupa By You policy.
The offer does not apply to other Bupa products or services. Ask your adviser to confirm how these conditions apply to your particular quote.
What does the assessment include?
Bupa’s leaflet describes an hour with a health adviser and core checks covering diabetes, cholesterol, body composition and metabolism. It also lists a mental health review, health and wellbeing resources in the My Bupa app, and round-the-clock nurse support through Anytime HealthLine.
These are the services described in the promotional leaflet. The offer does not itself extend the treatment benefits or change the exclusions of the insurance policy.
How to claim
1. Request a quote or start an application from 19 October 2026. 2. Complete the purchase and start the policy by 30 November 2026. 3. Book the assessment once the new policy has been in place for one month.
The leaflet says terms and conditions apply. It does not specify a final date for using the assessment or an exact closing time for the offer, so confirm booking arrangements and current availability with Bupa.
What this means for you
For someone already comparing new personal cover, the assessment may be a useful extra. Our view is that the policy’s ongoing premium, underwriting, outpatient cover and hospital access should carry more weight than a one-off incentive.
Existing Bupa customers should not assume that a routine renewal qualifies. At renewal, compare the cover and terms you already hold before considering any change. Re-underwriting can affect the terms offered for medical conditions, so an assessment incentive is not a reason on its own to give up existing arrangements.
Ask your adviser: “Does my exact quote qualify, is Guided Care selected, and would taking this policy change my underwriting or existing cover?”
Our Bupa health insurance review explains the wider policy choices to consider alongside this offer.
